Rebecca is a licensed massage therapist in the State of Maryland and is Board Certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She is a professional member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. Additionally, she is part of the adjunct faculty team for the massage therapy program at The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC).
After over a decade offering orthopedic-based massage therapy, Rebecca started a new journey training in Fascia Stretch Therapy™(FST) and completed Level 1 Certification at the Stretch To Win® Institute in Arizona. Before COVID-19 hit, she was integrating both massage therapy and FST into her practice. Having much time to "soul-search" after having to shut down her prior practice, she decided it was time to put all her focus into the stretch work. If you do not already know, FST does wonders for the physical body, but it also provides profound holistic benefits for the mind and spirit due to the fascial system's integration with our nervous system and brain! The year 2020 has challenged many of us more than we ever thought possible, and Rebecca feels called to offer this service as part of a collective healing that our communities are in great need of.
Throughout the years, she has worked in various settings including a wellness and acupuncture center (Towson, MD), a sports chiropractic clinic (Towson, MD), and a sports performance training facility (Cockeysville, MD). Just for fun, she was a member of the Wellness Team at the 2011 U.S. Open Golf Championship held at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland.
Rebecca holds a Master's degree in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Exercise Science from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. For many years she worked in cardiac rehab programs and with high risk populations as a clinical exercise physiologist. As an undergraduate, she attended Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor's degree in Health Science, minoring in Fitness Management. Rebecca also has experience within the health and fitness field as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor.
In her spare time... wait, she don't have spare time! Her family, especially her son in kindergarten, keeps her on her toes daily!
